Hymn or Her. (Who will win?)

"We live in a generation that seems to have lost all hope in humanity. I would like to speak on behalf of my generation, and get a better understanding of yours." In order to get here, Ellora had gone through what seemed like weeks of second-guessing herself. But nothing could come between her and the plan now. Her friends and herself could no longer ponder over the thought, that the elders in the church would never understand why.

   "Ellora, we can't just replace the traditional hymn with this upbeat... music as you would call it." As they all stood in the Sanctuary, she hoped that what she would be able to change their minds with her next statement. "Sir, I realize that most of the church and yourself are set in the traditional ways. But did it ever occur to you that maybe, with the changing of music styles, that those younger than you have found away to take those styles and make it a way to worship God?" She stood in silence as the choir leader began to reply. She longed for him to sympathize with the idea. As He began to speak it was torture. 

   "No it did not occur to me that such loud music could be a way to lift up the Lord God. And frankly why would it? The traditional hymns are the best way for us to be in God's peace. I doubt you will be able to change our minds." She moved across the diameter of the room. "Doesn't everyone have their own unique way of worshiping God? And isn't using the same style of music every Sunday restricting some from openly worshiping, if they are more comfortable with this new style?" He slowly replied while looking at Ellora. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but you have made a good point, I will allow one of your songs each Sunday until Christmas. If it goes well you can continue with it." Ellora let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you sir! you won't be disappointed!" She left the church with the biggest smile, looked up, and whispered. "Thank you."
